2025 Demo Reel & Breakdown

Shot 1
Logo Replacement
When choosing a logo replacement shot I wanted to find a plate that can challenge my tracking capabilities. So with this shot I have used KeenTools' geo tracker node along with Nuke's planar tracker node to get the elements into place.
A difficulty I faced while dealing with this shot was incorporating the reflection and reintegrating the lighting as the light ray shines above the elements. How I dealt with this was using Nuke's ray render node to animate the reflection. As for the lighting I used a combination of the curve tool to get the lighting detail and hand roto animating to get the timing of the lighting affect right.
Shot 2
Keying
I wanted to challenge myself with keying I thought of the small and semi transparent details where the foreground element is being effected by the blue/green screen behind.
When dealing with this shot my first question is how to retain the hair detail. To solve this challenge I required a core mask where his face and hair are not affected by the screen as much and so I can have another mask where I can give my attention to maintaining the thinner strands of hair. To grab the thin hair details I used a combination of methods with converting the bandpass into an alpha, and the IBKGizmo.

Shot 3
Screen Burn
With a screen burn shot I wanted to test my creativity to tell a story. One of the most famous shots I thought of was the Ring with the girl coming out of the screen. So I found this plate which gives an eerie ambiance where it can support the idea I was aiming for.

Adding some pictures to add some history to the scene, flickering lights to support the ominous feel, and the shot with the girl appearing through the screen near the end of the sequence may leave the audience to question what will occur next, I believe achieved my goal.
Shot 4
Paintout
Paintout shots is crucial when doing compositing whether it is to erase wiring, unnecessary props, camera men, and cameras. So I looked for a shot that requires many treatments throughout the sequence.

Analyzing this shot I needed to patch the hole on the ground, and the suitcase; remove the camera man, the gears, wiring, as well as the softbox lighting in the mirror.

The difficulty with the shot is recreating the legs of the table and hand tracking the suitcase patch along with creating a shadow animation when the suitcase covers the patched floor.
